Becoming a Friend of the London Music Fund is one of the most meaningful ways to support our work. Your regular donation helps provide long-term stability for the charity whilst giving you a lasting connection to the young musicians whose lives you help transform.
£10 a month will pay for instrument hire, enabling a child to have an instrument they can take home to practise.
£25 a month will contribute to a child’s membership at a Saturday Music Centre, accessing bands, orchestras and ensembles.
£50 a month will contribute to the cost of a child’s weekly individual instrumental tuition.
As a thank you for your support, you will receive:• Inspiring scholar success stories and progress updates
• Regular communications, including our e-newsletter and a digital copy of our annual Impact Report
• Invitations to special events, with opportunities to get involved through volunteering if you wish
• Occasional musical treats from our Scholars

We aim to award 100 four-year Junior Scholarships each year to children from low-income families. The total cost of supporting one child for the full four years is £4,000 (£1,000 per year or £85 per month).
Your sponsorship will fund:
A structured weekly programme of at least two hours of music-making, including instrumental tuition and ensemble participation in orchestras, choirs, and bands.
Performance and enrichment opportunities, including projects and events with professional musicians.
Continued support through the transition to secondary school, ensuring musical progress is not disrupted at this critical point.
Dedicated pastoral and academic guidance, through a named mentor who works closely with the child’s school, family, teacher and local Music Service to ensure they are fully engaged and supported.
As a Junior Scholarship Sponsor, you will receive:
Your Scholar’s name, age, borough and instrument
Twice-yearly progress updates on their development
Invitations to our annual Awards Celebration, Graduation Ceremony, and selected performances and events
Regular updates, including our e-newsletter and impact report
Acknowledgment on our website

We are incredibly grateful to the trusts, foundations, and grant-makers who have contributed to our mission: from underpinning our core programmes to enabling new initiatives, trusts and foundations are essential partners in our work.
Trusts and foundations can direct their support towards a specific strand of the London Music Fund’s work, or if you would rather provide unrestricted funding, we will steward your grant carefully, ensuring it is applied where it can have the greatest impact.
In all cases, we keep our partners closely connected to our work through regular reporting and invitations to performances and events, so you can experience the outcomes of your support directly.
If you represent a trust, foundation, or grant-making organisation and would like to explore how your support could make a difference through the London Music Fund, we would love to hear from you. We can discuss how your funding could be directed to areas that align with your priorities.
Please contact: Beatrice Reid, Development and Communications Officer, beatrice@londonmusicfund.org

If you believe that music has the power to change lives, we invite you to consider remembering the London Music Fund in your Will. No matter the size, every legacy has a lasting impact on young musicians in London for generations to come.
There are several ways to leave a gift:
Residuary gift: A share of your estate after all other gifts and expenses have been settled. This type of gift maintains its real value over time and ensures your intentions are preserved.
Pecuniary legacy gift: A fixed cash amount from your estate. To protect against inflation, you could consider index-linking your gift, for example: “I give to London Music Fund (registered charity number 1141216) for its general charitable purposes the amount found by dividing [AMOUNT] by the consumer prices index figure for the month in which this document is executed and multiplying the result by the consumer prices index for the month in which I die.” Please consult your legal adviser when using this approach.
Specific legacy: A particular item, such as jewellery, artwork, or shares. These may need to be sold so that the proceeds can be used effectively. If you are considering leaving a non-monetary gift, we encourage you to discuss the details with us.
You may choose to make your gift restricted, supporting a specific area of our work, or unrestricted, which allows the London Music Fund to direct your legacy to the areas of greatest need.
Legacy gifts are exempt from inheritance tax. For UK taxpayers, a charitable legacy is deducted from the estate before tax is calculated. Leaving more than 10% of your net estate to charity can also reduce the inheritance tax rate on the remainder of your estate from 40% to 36%.
We understand that planning your Will is a deeply personal decision and strongly recommend seeking professional legal advice.
If you wish, we are happy to discuss your intentions confidentially and acknowledge your generous support. Please contact Chris Stones, Chief Executive, chris@londonmusicfund.org for more information.
