Support Us

We are enormously grateful to all our supporters, without whom our work would not be possible.

With no statutory or government funding, 100% of our income is from individual philanthropy, corporate support and trusts and foundations.
If you believe in the power of music to change lives we hope you will consider supporting us, helping us to enable thousands more young musicians to fulfil their potential.

Music is a way at escape the world and relax. It is an amazing thing, especially to play it. The highlight of my LMF Scholarship is the ability to play with other instruments and it’s given me the chance to play my guitar for over 5 years.

There is an increasingly large body of evidence outlining research into the benefits of learning a musical instrument; developing language and aural skills, supporting intellectual development and educational motivation, contributing to the development of communities, encouraging psychological well-being and of course, to contribute to creativity, enjoyment and recreation.

Sadly, there is still an extraordinary gulf in opportunity for instrumental learning in this country; according to a report released by the BPI in 2018, only 12% of the most deprived schools have any kind orchestra, compared to 85% of independent schools. In addition, 1 in 4 schools offer no instrumental tuition at all to children who want it.

The London Music Fund aims to address this significant gap and focuses on the middle ground between first musical experiences and high musical achievement. With your help we can continue to make music education, and musical progression, accessible to young Londoners from all backgrounds.
