London Music Fund at 15: An Evening to Remember

Sir Karl Jenkins CBE conducting Palladio, featuring LMF Scholars, Ambassadors and Graduate Ambassadors

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for London Music Fund at 15: The Next Generation at Smith Square Hall on Monday 27 April. It was a truly special concert which we will carry with us for a long time, not only for the extraordinary music, but for the strong sense of community that filled the hall.

Seeing our Scholars, Senior Scholars, Ambassadors and Graduate Ambassadors take to the stage, was profoundly moving. We were surrounded by Scholar families, friends, teachers, Ambassadors, partners and supporters who have walked alongside these young musicians from the very beginning.

To everyone who played a part, whether you performed, supported, mentored, volunteered or simply showed up to cheer: thank you. This sold‑out evening was a testament to you as much as to the young people on stage. The evening featured performances from across the London Music Fund community. Highlights included chamber music by Schubert, Chopin and Gallo; jazz and improvisation from the Royal College of Music Junior Jazz Quartet; and solo performances by our Ambassadors and Graduate Ambassadors, including Jeneba Kanneh-Mason and Sasha Grynyuk.

The concert also showcased Sir Karl Jenkins CBE conducting his Palladio, and culminated in a specially commissioned 15th Anniversary Celebration piece, written by LMF Scholars and Senior Scholars, arranged by Chris Jacklin and conducted by Adam Gibbs. Our 15th anniversary has given us an opportunity to reflect on how much London Music Fund has grown over the past fifteen years. During the concert, however, we were most inspired by what lies ahead and by the musicianship, dedication, and promise of the next generation of young musicians. We look forward to the next fifteen years of LMF and are grateful for your continued support.

Behind every successful event is a community of people who give their time, energy and support. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Chair and co‑founder, Baroness Fleet, and our co‑founder, Richard Morris, as well as to our dedicated Trustees and Ambassadors, our volunteers, and to you, our wonderful community of supporters. If you were swept up in the excitement of the evening, or were unable to attend and did not have the opportunity to complete a pledge card, and would still like to support our work, you can do so by clicking the donate button in the top right hand corner of this page.
