London Music Fund announces the departure of Chief Executive, Chrissy Kinsella

PRESS RELEASE
MONDAY 20 OCTOBER 2025

The London Music Fund (LMF) today announces that Chrissy Kinsella will step down as Chief Executive in January 2026 following more than a decade with the charity. The Board has begun the search for a successor, with interim arrangements in place to ensure a smooth transition.

Under Chrissy’s leadership, LMF has expanded and strengthened its mission to support young people from low-income families to access high-quality music education and progression opportunities. Highlights include the growth of the LMF Scholarships and Senior Scholars programmes, the creation and expansion of Amplify London, in partnership with YouTube, supporting strategic partnerships with leading cultural organisations and initiating the charity’s first phase of activity beyond the capital, in Liverpool and Birmingham, in early 2025.

Since its founding in 2011, the London Music Fund has supported over 15,000 young people, including awarding over 1,000 four-year Scholarships and has invested over £5 million in life-changing music opportunities. The Mayor of London serves as the charity’s Patron.

Chrissy Kinsella, Chief Executive, London Music Fund, said:

It has been the privilege of my career to lead the London Music Fund and to work alongside extraordinary young musicians, families, teachers and partners who believe, as I do, that every child deserves the opportunity to develop their potential in music and beyond. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together: nurturing Scholars from their first access experience of music, through to conservatoire entrance, growing the Senior Scholars programme in London and Birmingham, and launching Amplify London and Liverpool, to champion diverse creative voices. With the organisation in a strong position and exciting plans ahead for the charity’s 15th Anniversary in 2026, now feels like the right moment for me to hand over and for LMF to continue to flourish under new leadership. My heartfelt thanks to our trustees, funders and, above all, the young people who inspire us every day.

Baroness Fleet, CBE, Co-Founder & Chair of Trustees, London Music Fund, said:

On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Chrissy for her outstanding service and dedication. She has guided LMF through growth and change with unwavering commitment to young people. Her leadership has strengthened our programmes, broadened our partnerships and ensured the charity’s impact is felt across London and beyond. We wish her every success in her next chapter.

Richard Morris, Co-Founder & Trustee, London Music Fund, said:

Chrissy has been a tireless champion for access to music education, who sets and delvers the highest standards of work. Her ability to bring people together, from schools and music hubs to funders and world-class artists, has enabled LMF to transform the instrumental music learning landscape for young Londoners. The charity is stronger and more ambitious thanks to her leadership. I am deeply grateful for all she has done for the charity over the past decade.

Next steps

The Board has appointed Kate Kelly, Senior Programme and Operations Manager as Interim CEO to oversee day-to-day operations during the transition. Details of the recruitment process, led by AEM International, will be announced shortly on the LMF website: www.londonmusicfund.org
